The 10th Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party took place on Friday, February 24th in LA. There were a lot of Oscar nominees spotted before the big event Sunday, and all the actresses were decked out in the latest frocks. The event was cohosted by Women In Film Cathy Shulman and last year’s best actress winner Brie Larson.
Brie Larson in Alexander McQueen
Brie wore a white Alexander McQueen long sleeved dress to the event and I think the dress looks like it is missing something to it. The design needs to be a full gown, or the sleeves need to be cut off. I wish she chose something more youthful or playful for this event as this is aging her for me.
Rowan Blanchard in Rodarte
Rowan wore a Spring Summer 2017 Rodarte dress and I think this suited her perfectly. I love the lace trims and floral embellishments on the design. She was able to choose a sophisticated dress without letting it age her keeping her youthful spirit intact.
Jaime King in Monse
Jaime wore a Pre-Fall 2017 Monse black and white polka-dot dress to the event. This dress looks like it was two separate dresses they decided to cut in half and sew together to get this design. I think it would have been much better in either just black or white. I do enjoy her choice of shoes though.
Viola Davis in Max Mara
Viola wore a red-orange jumpsuit to the event. I think this choice showcased how amazing her arms are. The color pops on her skin, and stands out from all the black and white designs in the party.
Zoe wore an all black ensemble to this event, which is her typical red carpet uniform. While some may say this outfit is boring, I think she looked chic and well-dressed for the event. I love the jacket, and her hair pulled up was perfect to showcase it.
Emma Stone in Prada
Emma Stone wore a green embellished Prada two piece outfit paired with Jimmy Choo heels. The color complimented her hair and skin tone nicely, and really gave her an old Hollywood feel. I love how she opted for this set instead of a standard cocktail dress. Emma was the best dressed of the night for me.
